Volunteer opportunities
Wayne Street Center began as a grass roots organization that utilized many volunteers to carry out the daily functions of the agency.  Today, volunteers are still an integral part of the agency’s organization, their skills and contributions an invaluable asset to our services.  We have parents who volunteer in the classroom, help with record keeping, assist with child care, tutor those working hard to become literate and others who delight our children as story tellers.

Volunteers are respected and treated as staff and therefore, are expected to follow the personnel policies in regards to confidentiality and adherence to the mission and philosophy of EWSC.  All volunteers will receive an orientation to the agency and the specific program(s) or activities that they are assigned. Job descriptions include responsibilities, qualifications and who is their supervisor.  The value of the type of work and number of hours is rated and tracked as an in-kind donation.
